What: Star Wars Fan Edit

What:

This is an attempt to create a film that combines the three films of Star Wars The phantom menace, Attack of the clones and
Revenge of the sith into one coherent fan edit. This is not to shun on the majesticly produced films by the great George Lucas himself, but as an experience, to see if it was possible at all. And most importantly, to teach myself to edit a larger motion picture. If you want to read the why continue. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and watch it. I recommend that you download the file, but you should be able to watch it in google drives player if you don't have the largest space. Anyway, enjoy the movie and may the force be with you.

Why and How:

It has taken over three years to complete this film into a project that I deemed suitable for the general audience. This was mostly due to time and resources, as the project grew beyond a simple edit and into something larger. The film combines deleted scenes, new VFX shots and re-edited scenes to better suit the film's narrative. Certain scenes that may have been in the original films may have been deleted, due to plot inconveniences and cringe moments that, as a viewer, often took me out of the scene.

Anakin and Padmé's relationship has also been put to focus and an attempt to fix it was done. This I felt were necessary in order to make a better story then what was shown in the prequels. Scenes have also been made to flow more, as to not remove you from the film's story. Scenes have been reorganized to better suit the plot.

The film also sports a new look. This was done to get the films to streamline with each other. AOTC was desaturated to match closer with ROTS desaturated look. Scenes were given a film look, as I felt the digital images were to distracting too look at. Therefore, digital grain were added on top of the original footage and integrated into the blacks in order to give it a true film look. A 35 mm edit is also in the works. Just working on the look and should soon be done.

To to create a more believable narrative, new deleted scenes that were originally cut from the movies are included in this edit and was extracted from the DVD version. In order to increase the quality of the scenes, AI technology was implemented to enhance the scenes to a better quality.

The scenes include:

Extended Arrival: A more detailed look at Padmé and Anakin's arrival at Naboo. This scene was included to get more politics into the film, as nearly all the senate scenes were removed due to halting the film to a standstill and plot inconveniences. It also gives us more on where Padmé stands on the whole family situation and senate job.

Padmé's Parent's house: Padmé introduces Anakin to her family at her Naboo villa. Anakin can be seen walking with Ruwee through the window. This scene was included to show the human side of Star wars and to start a hint of romance in both Anakin and Padmé.

The film also includes a brand new opening crawl and with brand new VFX. This was made to give the film a more Star Wars feel and to give a context to how and where this new film would start. I owe most of this to a good friend of my, who together with his brother, wrote most of it for the simple reason that they love Star Wars and wants to see this project succeed. The VFX was done by your truly.

Good news everyone! The film now has subtitles for English and Norwegian.

If someone wants to add more, be my guest.

A 35mm edit will also soon be available...

The list of changes is extremely long and might be included in a future document.

Things that may change in future versions:

- Music fixes/Music additions - Possible a new mix.
- Subtitles(Multiple languages) - English and Norwegian is done.
- Better enhanced deleted scenes - They look fine now, but can be enhanced further.

- A rewamped end credit - To highlight all the amazing people who created these films.

Regardless, I hope you will enjoy the film as it is.

May the force be with you...

Always.
